Transit is an 8-panel comic, displayed in a sequence of 11.5” by 15.5" prints. Each print is created through a multi-layered screenprinting process, where 4-5 flat colors are printed in sequence. Gouache, calligraphy pen, and white acrylic ink are then applied to create detail and compositional focus. Additionally, these prints are compiled into a short comic, which is available as a takeaway. Transit follows a young woman as she is struck suddenly by a malevolent bird, which consumes her body. The narrative represents the feeling of mental intrusion from unwanted thoughts, and the hope and potential for connection despite these daily inconveniences.
